Last night The Ohmbres took a trip to the Magic Stick, one of Detroit’s most intimate venues, to see one of modern music’s most influential acts, ANTEMASQUE.

ANTEMASQUE is an American rock band formed in 2014 by former members of At the Drive-In and The Mars Volta, Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala, along with former Mars Volta touring drummer, Dave Elitch, and Marfred Rodriguez-López on bass.

Omar collaborator and Bosnian Rainbows’ frontwoman, Teri Gender Bender opened the show with her Mexican garage punk band, Le Butcherettes. After their energetic rock set, ANTEMASQUE took the stage to perform cuts from their debut, self-titled album. Songs included 4AM, In the Lurch, Drown All Your Witches, and a nearly 20-minute version of Providence. After the show, we were fortunate enough to hang out with the crew, meet Marford Rodriguez-López, and score an autographed CD by the band. Definitely one of the best shows ever!
